60-year-old woman in critical condition after vehicle lands upside down in DeWitt pond

DeWitt, N.Y. — A 60-year-old woman is in critical condition after her vehicle rolled over on Myers Road in DeWitt and landed upside down in a small pond this weekend, according to DeWitt police.
The woman was driving east on Myers Road about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when her vehicle went off the road, tumbled down a small embankment, hit a mailbox and small tree before landing upside down in the water, police said in a news release Monday. The crash happened in the 6700 block of Myers Road.
The East Syracuse Fire Department and EAVES ambulance pulled the woman from the car. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
